There once was a site that could give your eyes ADHD. Animated gifs battled over a clashing pinball sea. It was the awesomest site on the internet. A car-crash lava lamp. And thats before you got to the music. Now www.sonidochangorama.com returns 404s and the internet is a slightly duller place. Unsure if Sonido Changorama are still out there – their myspace shows life but garbled babelfish messages have fallen on deaf inboxes.
Fingers crossed for a proper release, but in the meantime here are a couple of tracks from their demo EP…

Del Gusto por Sonido Changorama

As our 93 Feet East night continues to evolve (big news soon cometh – watch this space), the FFTANG! soundsystem will be playing a rooftop gig tomorrow (10th) in Shoreditch. Huskiii (decks), Paolo (percussion) and Captain Trumpet (guess the instrument) will be making a racket inbetween bona fide bands with singers and everything.
Above Bar Aquarium, Old St from 6 till 9, Free entry.
CANCELLED! Sorry folks.

Sonido Del Principe from the awesome Generation Bass blog has dropped a mix of his trademark bass-heavy Nu Cumbia remixes.
I don’t think we’ve thrown a night where we haven’t played at least one Sonido Del Principe track and out of two FFTANG! FFTANG! mixtapes he’s cropped up thrice. Suffice to say we fanboys.

Cargo are on fuego at the mo… Not long after the latin legend dancefest that was the Joe Bataan gig, we now have Columbian diva, Totó La Momposina, gracing these East London shores on Sep 16.
A few remixes floating about this past year have appropriated her vocals, and she has a new album out. But for us nothing touches the majesty of her 2002 LP Pacantó.
Here’s the title track…
Totó La Momposina – Pacantó
And here’s she crops up on one of this summer’s i-beef-ah anffums….
Michel Cleis ft. Totó La Momposina – La Mezcla

Can’t remember how this cropped up in my collection. Most likely part of a charity shop haul. Check la Harlem Shuffle style intro.
